Levels explained
BEGINNERS COURSES: Whether beginning yoga to gain fitness, strength and flexibility, to help calm a busy mind or recover from an injury , our 8 week beginners courses are a wonderful way to start. Over the 8 weeks we will break down the fundamentals of a yoga practice including physical postures and movement as well as breathing and some basic meditation techniques.
Please note it is not possible to switch between booked courses. In other words, you can only attend the course that you have booked. In exceptional circumstances and by prior arrangement only, it may be possible to make up classes missed from a booked course by dropping-in to other classes, but subject to availability in that class.
IMPROVER/LEVEL 1: This class is for those of you who have completed the 8 week beginners course but feel you would like a stepping stone before moving into a level 1 class. New asanas, prananyama techniques and meditation will be introduced.
YOGA LEVEL 1: A mixed level class for those wanting a slightly gentler practice. A well rounded, basic yoga practice with emphasis on breathing and healthy alignment. Beginners are welcome, but it is suggested that you complete a beginners course first.
YOGA LEVEL 2: A moderately paced class that introduces more challenging asanas (postures), sun salutation variations, inversions and backbends and breathing techniques. Not suitable for beginners.
YOGA LEVEL 3: A more challenging class for those with an ongoing yoga practice. Assumes good grounding in the principles of asana and breathing. Advanced postures and methods of practice will be introduced. Not suitable for beginners.
ALL LEVELS: These classes are open to all levels of student from beginners to advanced practitioners.
COMMUNITY CLASS: Open to all levels of student.
PREGNANCY YOGA: Open to all pregnant women between 14 weeks to birth. This is an 8 week prepaid course.
MUMMY & ME: A class for mums to attend with their babies. 10 weeks to crawling. This is an 8 week prepaid course. Yoga Bodhi is situated on the first floor, therefore baby carriers are preferable. However, if you can contend with the stairs then there is storage for folded pushchairs.
RESTORATIVE YOGA: Open to all students. A gentle practice that will leave you feeling uplifted, balanced and relaxed.
Please note payments for all courses, workshops and retreats at Yoga Bodhi are non-refundable. Payment in part or full confirms your place on a course, workshop or retreat and is therefore binding. In special circumstances if you are unable to attend an event for which you have booked we may offer a credit note, at our discretion.
