Hatha (ha-tha) yoga is the Yoga of transforming two opposite energies into a powerful blend of limitless clarity. Once we become familiar with the practices that allow us this freedom, we begin to fully experience this journey called Life.
The word Tantra comes from the Sanskrit root Tan: to expand. The Tantric practices are those practices that help us expand our own wisdom . Hatha Yoga was created by a Tantric adept to help us further develop the ability to expand our wisdom and realize our true potential in this Life.
In this workshop we will have the opportunity to explore all the practices within this tradition. These will include Pranayama; both cooling practices for the summer and also warming practices for the winter months, Asana with an emphasis to alignment. In the Asana section we will have some fun with “Liquid Flow”. This is a practice that will in courage you to develop your own practice by giving you the confidence to realize that you know exactly what you need for you own practice. The practice of Mantra and Meditations will be included to round out the days practices. Mantras are powerful l sounds that “expand the mind”. Meditations allow us to come to a calm place to view the landscape of this life’s journey.
This workshop is open to all practitioners interested in further developing their understanding of Yoga, Hatha and Tantra. Come with an open Mind and perhaps we’ll all learn something together.
The morning session will be externally dynamic, a more physically demanding asana practice. The afternoon session will still work with asana, but with more emphasis on integrating the elements of bandha and pranayama within the practice.
